Evaluation of Active Design Guidelines
The purpose of this study is to assess the incorporation of design elements that promote active living in past projects of the New York City Department of Design and Construction (DDC) in order to collect baseline measurements prior to the release and dissemination of Active Design Guidelines. Investigators will determine knowledge, attitudes, and self-reported practices regarding physical activity promoting factors among architects pre- and post-Guidelines. Factors influencing the adoption of the different physical activity promoting factors will be evaluated and results will be used to inform revisions for future versions of Guidelines. The evaluation of the Active Design Guidelines will be utilized most immediately by both the DDC and NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene in order to improve dissemination and utilization of the Guidelines amongst the agencies and their partners.
