Baseline Evaluation of the Lafitte Greenway, New Orleans, Louisiana
This study will evaluate the impact of the undeveloped 3-mile Lafitte Greenway on the physical activity of residents in the surrounding neighborhoods. Specifically, investigators will measure physical activity levels of families (adults and children ages 3-18) living within ½ mile radius of the Lafitte Greenway. They will also determine environmental factors of neighborhoods adjacent to Greenway that influence likelihood of use of Greenway as a recreational space or transit corridor for walking. The key audiences for this research are people interested in the health and welfare of the residents of the area and people interested in the development of the Greenway.
