Publishing Transdisciplinary Research: Perspectives from Multiple Disciplines

As more transdisciplinary research teams prepare to publish active living studies, several challenges to authors and editors have become apparent. Journals tend to be oriented to specific disciplines, so it is unclear which journals are the most appropriate outlets for publication. Disciplines and journals vary in norms and practices with respect to writing style, statistical preferences, length, number of authors, reviewing practices, and many other issues. This panel of editors from leading journals in a range of disciplines is a unique opportunity to explore the challenges of publishing the results of studies in active living research. This discussion-oriented session will include ample time for questions from the audience.

Kevin Patrick, MD, MS, Editor-in-Chief, American Journal of Preventive Medicine
