Translation and Dissemination of Policy Research Relevant to the Community Use of Schools in Underserved Communities
The purpose of this project was to supplement another ALR grant that conducted a national, online survey of school administrators in low-income and minority communities to study policies influencing the community use of school recreational facilities outside of normal school hours. This Research Translation project focused on increased dissemination of the grant results by identifying strategic translation and dissemination tactics that inform state legislators of the importance of the community use of school recreational facilities after hours, and the importance of strengthening and reframing state laws that would provide limited liability protections for schools. Deliverables included a research brief, video pubcast, presentations at national meetings, and journal articles to promote the translation of research to policy.
