During this session, participants discussed a historical perspective of health inequity and the absence of culturally competent research opportunities for minorities.  There was a frank discussion on the role of researchers to help develop relevant research and the need to improve in the area of inclusion.  In addition participants had a spirited discussion on the history of social and health inequity and explored the effects of social determinants on health.
