This study examined the relationship between landscape designs, and physical activity and health-related quality of life among 200 fifth-grade Hispanic children and parents/guardians living in an inner-city neighborhood in Houston, TX.  The dissertation study also examined the gender differences in the environmental correlates of physical activity, and the roles of landscape structure.  Youth and adult perception of the landscape were measured through a participant survey, and objective measurements were taken using aerial photos, GIS, remote sensing, and specialized computer software.
