Annual Conference 2013

Annual Conference 2013

Presentations from the 2013 annual conference are posted.

The 2013 annual conference was held February 26 - 28, 2013 at the Paradise Point Hotel in San Diego, CA.

The theme of the 2013 conference, Achieving Change Across Sectors: Integrating Research, Policy and Practice, recognized the importance of engaging people from multiple disciplines and occupations to increase physical activity for everyone and reverse the obesity epidemic.

Collaboration is essential to achieve lasting changes to the environment and the creation of policies that will make it easier for people to be physically active during their daily routines. Such partnerships involve community members, researchers from multiple disciplines and sectors as well as key input from policy-makers and practitioners. These rich partnerships can help to ensure that the best available evidence is used when creating or maintaining active and vibrant communities that can benefit everyone.

A select number of papers presented at the 2013 conference are available for free in the January/February 2014 special issue of the American Journal of Health Promotion.
